Söderåsen

On Saturday, our common trip to Söderåsen was planned. And with us I mean everybody who lives at our corridor. So we left at 11.45, after sprinting to the train. Once we arrived at the place, we were looking at a small creek floating downhill from a large lake with mountains around it. It was simply beautiful! The view was amazing! We started by eating some lunch, and gaining energy for the hike that we would be doing.

During lunch, Anna, one of my friends who shares the same name, told us about the murder game that we would be playing all day long. Everybody would receive a note with a name written on it. This person would be your victim. During the day, you have to try to 'kill' this person, by making a gun with your hand and scream 'PANG!'. You can only do it when nobody else is watching and you must be within 2 meters of distance from your target. If you manage, you will get the card of that person, and that will be your next victim. At the end, there will be a person getting his or hers own name, and that is the sign that you have won!

So we went on our hike, and the views were amazing! We have been hiking for a few hours, and walked a good 13 kilometers. It was great, and so much fun to do together.

When we got back to the lake, we started up the barbecue (there are permanent barbecues for everyone to use around the lake). We ate a lot of hamburgers as it turned dark. And as we were standing around the barbecue, they announced the winner, which was me!!!! (Witch is a good thing since I'm a little competitive and not so good at losing ;) )

When it was dark, we went home. Some of us stayed overnight, but I was too tired, so went home and got some rest. What a great day! Cheers!

I fell in love with Sweden

Okay, so I am now more than a month here, and I must say, I love it! The nature here is so beautiful! But before I come to that, I will give you a good update on what I have been doing the past two weeks, because I haven't told you yet.

So first of all, I did some very nice activities with my roommates the last two weeks. We had a Fika with the entire building, where we ate all kinds of nicely baked food. Further, some of my friends and I organized a sushi night, where we made our own sushi. It was super delicious and we had made over a hundred pieces of sushi. We also did manicures and watched an old Harry Potter movie that night.

On the work front, much has been happening. I have been working with both alligators and orangutans! Super exciting, and I will hopefully be able to tell you more about it soon.

So, currently I am in Furuvik, a place way more up north than I'm living. It is an eight hour train ride up here. Because of that, I will stay here the entire week, in a cabin. The cabin is located in the Furuvik zoo! In this zoo, we look at the ape behaviors for our research projects. It has been so nice to meet all the apes I have been watching online for so long.

So, so far it has been a blast living here in Sweden. Here, in Furuvik, the nature is stunning, so I enjoy that very much as well.

Joining a Choir

I haven't been singing in a few years now. I used to sing in a choir when I was in high school for a while, and did some solo singing for a few years, but somehow, this stopped when I went off for University. Here in Lund, one of my friends pointed out the Usch Choir, the United Students Choir. It is a choir where they actually speek English, because a lot of international students are joining the Choir. So today, I went to the Västerkyrkan, where we had dinner together and where we rehearsed afterwards. It was so nice to sing again! And everybody was so nice! It was a lovely get together. From now on, I will be one of the sopranos of the Choir! We will actually perform next week for the first time already! Super Exciting!

So far, I am really loving my time in Sweden. Can't wait for more adventures!
